Wayne Anthony Butts Scholarship

The Wayne Anthony Butts Scholarship was established in 2013 by distinguished NMF Alumnus Dr. Gary C. Butts to honor his late brother. This award of $5,000 is given to one (1) 1st or 2nd year underrepresented students of medicine enrolled in an accredited New York metropolitan area medical school for the 2021-2022 academic year, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement, leadership, community service, and interest in urban health. The selected scholar will be presented with the award during the 2022 NMF New York Champions of Health Awards.
