Scholarships

Established in 2018, this award provides a $7,000 scholarship to two (2) underrepresented students of medicine enrolled in an accredited medical program in the following US States: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas. This scholarship features an enhanced learning experience wherein selected scholars complete a mentored research paper focused on a specific healthcare issue of their choice. The scholar will present a practical approach to the project that must have the ultimate goal of improving or extending life, or of healing, on a community, national or global level. Some potential areas for investigation may be: community health, maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality, aging, Alzheimer’s or related dementias, vascular or cardiac disease, renal disease, lung disease, etc. The scholar will be required to include a detailed proposal with the application.
