Pilot Program: Lessons from medical student-led exercise and stress management

Key Outcomes:
During COVID-19 many challenges related to stress and trauma exacerbated due to isolation from closure of churches, schools, and parks. Concern for their children developing anxiety, decreased sleeping hours, and eating unhealthily. Collaborated with bilingual licensed child and adolescent therapist, Dr. Marilyn Sampilo, to deliver trauma-informed programming on stress reduction. Focus Initiative and make programming by age-group. To ensure sustainability collaborate with volunteers and create positions. IRB to assess how effective the programming is on mental health with the changes implemented from insights of the project in 2022.
