Hypertension and Diabetes Management in Patients with Substance Use Disorders
Program: NMF Primary Care Leadership Program
Medical School/Institution: Sam Houston State University-College of Osteopathic Medicine, Western University of Health Science
Project Location/Site: Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, Brockton, Massachusetts
Year: 2022
Key Outcomes:
There was no statistical significance between primary care patients (non-SUD) and Harm Reduction Clinic (SUD) patients on DM and HTN management measures. Settings that concurrently manage chronic disease and SUD may be more equipped to improve patient’s health outcomes. More research is needed on the impact of FQHC with larger data set to represent the population.
