In “Racism & Health In U.S. Medicine,” NMF alumni Dr. Aletha Maybank, chief health equity officer and senior vice president of the American Medical Association, and Dr. Vabren Watts, Health Affairs’ director of health equity, discuss the history of racism in medicine and research.

Washington is the author of several books on medical ethics, including Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present. This featured video coincides with the release of “Racism & Health,” the February 2022 issue of Health Affairs.
