NMF President and CEO on TEDx Santa Barbara
In the TEDxSantaBarbara salon, “Why Health Care Leadership Needs All Voices: The Best Path to Health Equity,” NMF President and CEO Michellene Davis, Esq. discusses the critical need for diversity in health care leadership.
She argues that a medical workforce that mirrors the populations it serves is essential to achieving health equity. Diverse perspectives in health care lead to better patient outcomes, innovation, and more equitable care. Davis emphasizes that tackling health crises requires inclusive leadership and a commitment to addressing the systemic disparities that harm chronically marginalized communities.
“I came here [to NMF] to create more physician leaders. It is both at the health care executive level, leading the systems and structures, as well as ensuring there is a pathway which these students can get through medical school and begin serving their communities that need them.”
The conversation is part of a salon series, Making Waves: Influencers and Disrupters hosted by Mark Sylvester that focuses on social justice.
