Dr. Linnie Golightly is associate dean of diversity, associate professor of medicine in microbiology and immunology and associate professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. She discusses the pivotal role that National Medical Fellowships played in her medical school journey. And fittingly, she now works to increase underrepresented students at Weill Cornell Medicine, just as NMF seeks to increase underrepresented students in medicine across the nation.

“Sometimes you realize you don’t have to wait for the door to open. You kick it off the frame and go forward. We control the door,” she says.
