NMF Ambassadors
Join NMF's Ambassador Program!
Are you passionate about delivering care to the communities facing the most severe health challenges and raising awareness about related issues and the work NMF does? Do you have subject expertise and want to share your knowledge with the public?
If so, we invite you to consider joining our Ambassador program. In doing so, you will share your affiliation with NMF and serve as a representative of the organization. As appropriate, we will ask you to speak to NMF’s talking points, as well as share your own perspectives.
NMF is developing a program to identify individuals willing to use their voices to educate the public and galvanize action. There are two main avenues for participation:
- Join NMF’s Speakers Bureau. NMF receives many requests for speakers to participate in conferences and podcasts, and to be sources for reporters. Should you join the speaker’s bureau, you will be asked to identify up to three areas of expertise about which you are comfortable speaking, complete NMF’s volunteer agreement form, and agree that NMF may provide your contact information to interested conference conveners, podcast producers, and reporters. NMF will not publish your information, but only share with individuals for vetted speaking opportunities. NMF will not cover travel or accommodation expenses for in-person opportunities, but most event organizers do offer reimbursement or stipends.
- Sign up to be a signatory on NMF op-eds and public statements. On occasion, NMF authors statements about access to health care and invites like-minded individuals or organizations to co-sign. We will contact you about opportunities as they arise. You will be invited to review the draft and may always decline for any reason.
- Join the NMF Editorial Advisory Group to offer your content expertise to review public-facing statements. NMF frequently weighs on issues such as the Black maternal health to clinical research to a wide array of health challenges. The NMF Communications Team is looking for content experts (e.g. reproductive health, oncology, gastroenterology, etc.) to review draft materials to ensure NMF is citing the latest and most definitive research.
