Tyeese Gaines, DO, MA, FACEP

Dr. Tyeese Gaines is a board-certified emergency medicine physician based in New Jersey. After earning her Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston and her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Florida, she completed her residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital where she was chief resident and later taught as clinical instructor.
In addition to her path to medicine, she holds a Master’s degree in Journalism, and enjoyed a fifteen-year career in print and broadcast journalism, including seven years working for various NBC outlets. In 2014, she became a fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians, and in 2011 was honored with a Top 40 – under – 40 award from the National Medical Association. She has also served on the Minority Affairs Section governing council for the American Medical Association since 2013.
Dr. Gaines is currently pursuing her MBA at University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, and most recently has started her own agency for doctors interested in media training entitled Doctor Ty Media.
