Below are the Scholars who served in Oakland CA in 2018. Please note that Oakland CA is not a current PCLP placement city.

Now a medical student, Matthew Lee is a motivated individual with a demonstrated commitment to improving healthcare for the underserved. He has served as a leader for the CNUCOM Mentorship Program and has organized fundraising for and participated in a service trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and has volunteered in the cardiac catheterization lab of a hospital in Pomona, CA, a majority Hispanic community. His career focuses on creating meaningful change to the healthcare system that will deliver innovative care to underserved communities.

As a Physician Assistant student, Christian Martinez has a commitment to serving the underserved communities. He graduated with a BA from California State University Los Angeles and completed a post-baccalaureate BS from Cal State Northridge in order to pursue PA school. He has worked as an ophthalmic technician for a retina practice and has served as a volunteer for the emergency department at L.A. County Hospital. His commitment to helping our communities is exemplified through his hard work ethic and devotion to providing care to everyone but especially those with limited resources.
