Morehouse School of Medicine
PCLP Site: Southside Medical Center
Berenice successfully integrates her passion for medicine, service and global health. After completing her undergraduate degree, she pursued a Master’s degree in Public Health to better understand how to use preventive approaches to tackle complex health issues. Since beginning her medical career, Berenice has assisted in planning a student-run medical mission trip to Haiti and actively mentors children in the metropolitan Atlanta area while encouraging academic improvement and personal growth. In addition, while working as a clinical research assistant at an orthopaedic practice for more than a year, she gained a heightened awareness of the barriers and consequences of lack of access to health care.
Whittaker, Danielle Danielle Whittaker

PCLP Site: Southside Medical Center
Danielle is a returning GE-NMF Primary Care Leadership Program Scholar. As Co-President for her local chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), Danielle frequently participated in service opportunities that aimed to decrease the gaps in health outcomes and access to health care for underserved and minority populations. She passionately works with mentoring and pipeline programs to expose young, underrepresented in medicine students to the possibility of a career in the health professions. Danielle is excited to explore her interest in pediatrics and to learn more about the role of the physician leader in primary care.
