REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF DR. LEVI WATKINS, JR.

NMF Alumnus, renowned cardiologist, humanitarian, and champion of diversity, Levi Watkins, Jr., MD passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the age of 70.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Dr. Watkins, after his untimely death on Friday. A pioneer in medicine and diversity,he mentored generations of students and inspired fellow professionals. He will be missed. On Monday, April 13, at the New York Champions of Health Awards, Dr. George C. Hill, Levi Watkins, Jr. Professor Emeritus in Medical Education, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, accepted the NMF Distinguished Alumni Award on behalf of Dr. Watkins and gave tribute to his legacy.
